Brand awareness is determined by how well people know your brand. Having great brand awareness is an integral part of any company’s portfolio, as the more aware that people are of your brand; the more likely they are to make others aware of your brand.
Brand awareness is developed in many different ways, however in the beginning; your initial brand awareness will be built in the following ways:
Advertising – you will advertise your brand across as many media channels as possible, in order to get maximum exposure for your company, and the brand you are hoping to develop.
Quality – to develop an effective brand name, you will need to be sure that the quality of the product or service that you provide is superior; this will ensure that any customers that you get will mention your brand whenever someone they speak to is looking for your product or service.
Customer Service – in order to ensure that your brand is developed in the most efficient way, you need to ensure that after sales service and even your pre sales service is at a level to match the quality of your product or service.
These 3 factors mentioned above ensure when you start developing a brand, that it will be synonymous with quality and service. With the advertising part of your brand building, there are a few factors to take into account:
Exposure – you would like your brand to get the maximum exposure possible. This ensures that a wide variety of potential customers will see your brand, and therefore you will be able to see which demographics respond to your brand they way you would like customers to respond.
Brand building – when developing your own brand, you need to look for other brands within your industry that people trust. Finding a major brand within your industry is not always easy or possible, however if you manage to find one, you can use their brands credibility to help boost your brands credibility, as advertising on or in another major brand label will make people believe that somehow your brand is related to the major brand through which you advertise. This is true for most print and banner ads, however most PPC ads do not carry the same credibility that print and banner ads do.
Having great brand awareness will help you to lower your advertising costs, whilst boosting your sales. Once you have developed a brand that has a high awareness, you will not need to continue to saturate the market with your advertisements. This is due to the fact that with a well developed brand, even the smallest advertisements will carry the same weight as large advertisements.
