Design Concept – Sell Cars Online in Cyprus March 12, 2010 at 1:40 am

Here we will take you through the design concept and features of two types of example website designs for selling cars online in Cyprus. You may or may not have read our initial post on this concept that outlays the considerations and planning factors when deploying such an Internet marketing scheme. Follow this link: Internet Concept – Sell Cars Online in Cyprus – and read more.

Design 1

Design 1 is Luxury Cars Cyprus, a site aimed at achieving sophistication and maintaining a high calibre reputation for top of the range cars only. On this design the main focus is display professionalism and quality, with ‘Top end’ cars there is a different style of buyer, this site is of course designed to attract that buyer where the end result will be to make a sell, but more importantly maintain a good reputation for service and style.

As you can see straight away, the dark colouring, attractive logo, and images are very striking. The logo was designed by using a double layered glow effect. Behind the text we have the glow on a separate layer that just brings the text to life, and creates that sense of class about the logo design. Directly underneath the logo design we have a perspective image of a road, this looks great and ties in with the design, as well as giving site visitors an understanding of what the site is about.

One of the main components of the site has got to be the gallery and especially the quality of images of the luxury cars contained in that gallery. In Cyprus there is a lot of competition in the car selling industry so we want these images to be glossed up and in our site users face. This is why we have gone for a large size image gallery, set upon a white background and border making it sit off the page, and also has great functionality that allows the user to cycle through some of the top luxury cars on the site.

Another important factor as mentioned in the opening paragraph has got to be the service. With selling luxury cars in Cyprus you have to offer something that puts you a cut above the rest – being that there are so many other car retailers. Notice the box on the design ‘Luxury Service’, the luxury part is a great concept in this specific design that can be used throughout the company and website to promote certain services. We used it on this design set on a glossy car image and with text set on a shadow to make the service clearly visible and create a special pulling point to attract a sell.

Luxury Cars Cyprus achieves its goal nicely, creating a design that displays luxury and professionalism.

Design 2

Design 2 is a used car site for Cyprus, the main focus is to sell as many cars and help people sell cars fast and efficiently. In this design we focused towards producing a layout that is most importantly user friendly, as well as a layout that can display plenty of cars to be visible to all site visitors. Design Concept - Used Cars Cyprus

With the ‘Top Deals in Cyprus’ section we created a carousel style photo display for premium customers who wish for their cars to be displayed at the top of the homepage. It’s a great way to allow sellers of cars the chance to attract a buyer quicker, as the whole point of a used cars site is making the sell. The colouring is co-ordinated in this section along with the areas of the design.

The main most vital component of the site is the search functionality. With a database of cars, you need to be able to provide every user the instant possibility of locating the kind of car they wish to purchase. With simple drop-down boxes and a selection of characteristics that will bring up a car buyers results, this achieves that goal. Underneath on the lower section is where the results and latest cars will be displayed. You can see also we have green buttons that are also continuous throughout the design, these buttons are used on the areas of which we want to channel the site users to go, in Used Cars Cyprus’ case we want them to click on the search and open of the cars details.

The members area in the top left corner of the design is easily identified where you can see a picture of a lock. This lock represents the log-in and a safe and secure area for anyone who wants to register and sell their car. The logo CarSell CY was literally thought up and created in 5 minutes, the very simple effect of laying two text colours one in front of the other, and the road markings in the background works well, goes with the site colours, and it identifies with every site user and first time visitor that this site obtains cars for sell.

Used Cars Cyprus is based on our research of other major online used car selling websites, along with our own concepts and ideas we have designed a site that looks good as well as achieving its purpose – to sell used cars.

Conclusion

I’m rather pleased with both site designs, not just for the look but for the feel and purpose in what they achieve. At first glance you can instantly see what type of site your on and you can determine what the site has to offer. Luxury Cars Cyprus was probably the harder to design out of the two, where its more focused towards creating a unique and attractive high calibre feel. Whereas on CarSell CY the used cars Cyprus site, all you need to display is the functionality and options to allow users the ability to find the car they are looking for.

I hope you have enjoyed reading through, please be patient and look out for the next article in our series Sell Cars Online in Cyprus.
